Cate McDonough is the Deputy Director, Planned Giving at Yale University. She has been at Yale since 2010, where she first served in frontline roles and, in 2018, officially joined the planned giving team. Cate carries a small portfolio of prospects, has management responsibilities and spends much of her time providing guidance on legal questions and assisting with the drafting of complex gift agreements. Prior to joining Yale’s development team, Cate was an attorney in private practice and worked as an educator, coach and dorm parent at a junior boarding school in Massachusetts. Cate lives in Madison, CT with her husband, her two young children – one a pandemic baby, born in April 2020—and their brand-new puppy.
