Earth, Planet, Universe - The John Muir Legacy Musical
By attracting donors to an entertaining and engaging event in line with your nonprofit mission, not only can you ask for a donation to attend the event and perhaps a reception to follow, but you have opened their eyes to the impact a legacy can have. A natural next step is to engage your donors in a dialogue about how your organization fits into their legacy giving.
Designed as an immersive musical theater experience to explore the path forged by John Muir, the audience joins him on a hike through the woods to various national park sites he visited during his lifetime. At each site, the audience learns about John Muir’s legacy and the Native Americans who lived in each location for millennia. As these two stories intertwine through song and dialogue, the audience is inspired by John Muir’s example to ask themselves what legacy they want to leave for others.
Tim Throckmorton wrote the script and lyrics and portrays the role of John Muir. In addition to performing leading tenor roles as veteran of over fifty musical productions, he is also passionate about the outdoors and the performing arts. He is dedicated to help plan the legacy that nonprofits and their donors wish to envision and create together.
Ed Rosenblatt is the composer and actor for all other roles, as well as providing accompaniment for the musical numbers. He has been performing, composing, conducting, and arranging music for over 30 years.
