Whose Story Matters? Yours or Theirs?

You love your mission, and your passion is contagious. Thank goodness for your focus and ability to share your story with urgency and conviction. Time is a limited resource, and you need to establish a meaningful connection – efficiently and effectively. So whose story matters? Yours or theirs? And which one comes first? The art of Influence and persuasion requires both active listening and the ability to relate to differing communication styles and needs. In this highly engaging workshop, you’ll gain insight into your communication style, and how it differs from others. As a result, you’ll identify specific steps to both better understand and to be better heard and understood – leveraging the collective success of your stories together.

Scott Hunter
Director of Special Assets

Being Special-The Importance of Non-Cash Gifts

In his presentation, entitled Being Special-The Importance of Non-Cash Gifts, Scott will offer insights and share experiences on how the ability to address a wide array of non-cash gift opportunities can substantially increase major gift commitments. Invariably, fulfilling a major gift commitment will include a donated asset other than cash. The importance of the special asset discussion will be considered through lively examples that members of the Planned Giving Group of Connecticut will find both entertaining and informative. The talk is sure to inspire our members to provide the highest level of customer service and insure a first-class philanthropic experience for donors.
